Washington, DC – Today, the Postal Regulatory Commission (Commission) begins its review of the system for regulating rates and classes for Market Dominant products that was first established in 2006. The law requires that the Commission begin its review of the current rate system ten years after the date of enactment of the Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act, to determine whether it’s achieving the objectives established by Congress.

Washington, DC –President Obama reappointed Robert G. Taub and Mark Acton as Commissioners of the Postal Regulatory Commission (Commission) for new terms that expire October 14, 2022. Both Commissioners were confirmed by the United States Senate on December 10, 2016. The President also designated Taub as Chairman of the Commission; he has led the Commission as Acting Chairman since December 4, 2014.

Washington, DC – In its 2015 Annual Compliance Determination(ACD), the Postal Regulatory Commission identified components of the Postal Service’s Flats mail flow that appear to represent pinch points that significantly impact Flats’ cost and service. As a result, the Commission asked that the Postal Service provide a complete response to the chapter 6 directive in the ACD.

Washington, DC – At today’s quarterly public meeting of the Postal Regulatory Commission (Commission), the Commission outlined its plans for the upcoming review of the existing ratemaking system. The Commission is notifying the public now so that all interested parties may prepare to fully participate in the review that will start after December 20, 2016.

Washington, DC – Today the Postal Regulatory Commission (Commission) issued its analysis of the United States Postal Service (Postal Service) fiscal year (FY) 2015 Annual Performance Report and fiscal year 2016 Performance Plan. The Commission is statutorily required to review the Postal Service’s goals and make findings as to whether the Postal Service has met those goals and offer any recommendations regarding the protection or promotion of public policy objectives.
