    PRC Reviews USPS FY 2013 Performance Goals and FY 2014 Plan

    Washington, DC – In a report released today, the Postal Regulatory Commission evaluates the Fiscal Year 2013 performance goals and Fiscal Year 2014 performance plans of the United States Postal Service. The Commission had in previous years provided this analysis in its Annual Compliance Determination report.

    PRC Adopts A Fast Track Process For Advisory Opinions On Nationwide Service Changes

    Washington, DC – Today the Postal Regulatory Commission introduced modernized rules to respond to Postal Service requests for Advisory Opinions on major changes to postal services. Under these new rules, the Commission would seek to issue future advisory opinions in 90 days or less while still meeting the requirements of the Administrative Procedure Act.

    PRC Evaluates USPS Performance in 2013 Annual Compliance Determination

    Washington, DC – Today the Postal Regulatory Commission issued its 2013 Annual Compliance Determination (ACD) report, an assessment of the U.S. Postal Service’s rates and service in Fiscal Year (FY) 2013. This year’s ACD is based on information the Postal Service is required to provide to the Commission and comments from the public.

    PRC Issues Advisory Opinion Analyzing USPS Load Leveling Plan

    Washington, DC – The Postal Regulatory Commission today issued its analysis of the Postal Service’s Destination Sectional Center Facility (DSCF) Load Leveling Plan, designed to facilitate workload equalization throughout the week for processing and delivery of DSCF entered Standard Mail. While the Commission recognizes the potential benefits of the Plan, the limited testing completed thus far is inconclusive regarding the effects of the Plan on a nationwide basis.

    PRC Names David A. Trissell to General Counsel Post

    Washington, DC – Postal Regulatory Commission Chairman, Ruth Y. Goldway, announced today that David A. Trissell has been selected by the Commission to assume the role of General Counsel in the Commission’s Office of General Counsel (OGC) effective March 24, 2014. Trissell succeeds Stephen Sharfman, who retired after 23 years as general counsel to the Commission.

    PRC Among The Best Places to Work in the Federal Government

    Washington, DC – For the second year in a row, the Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC) is designated one of The Best Places to Work in the Federal Government®. Based on published scores, the PRC had the largest positive point increase of any very small agency with less than 100 employees; and the third highest survey response rate out of all agencies participating in the FY 2013 Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey.

    Commissioner Mark Acton Named PRC Vice Chairman

    Effective January 1, 2014, the Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC) voted unanimously to designate Commissioner Mark Acton as Vice Chairman of the PRC, succeeding Commissioner Robert Taub. PRC regulations provide that the Commissioners elect a member to serve as Vice Chairman for a term of one year.
